Princess Eugenie is stepping up for her uncle, King Charles, after receiving a new honour from the monarch as he makes big changes.
The King’s niece, who is a patron of the charity Horatio’s Garden, visited the facility on Saturday to promote a meaningful cause, something that is close to her heart.
As a child, Eugenie suffered from Scoliosis – where the spine twists and curves to the side. Hence, the royal made an emotional visit to the charity as it supports the “wellbeing of people after spinal injury in beautiful, vibrant sanctuaries”.
The 35-year-old royal may not be a senior working royal but she has always stepped up in support for her charities she is a patron of. Moreover, Eugenie is beginning to appear in a more notable role to bring focus to significant work.
“Visiting @horatiosgarden in Salisbury Hospital was so special,” Eugenie wrote in her message on social media after her emotional visit.
“@horstionsgarden is a charity that builds gardens in hospital spinal centres around the UK and provide a much needed space for patients to enjoy nature in an accessible way,” she continued.
“To listen to some of the life changing stories these patients go through and the long road to recovery really highlights just how important having access to nature and healing activities to do in times of trauma.”
The message concluded, “Supporting these charities can help touch the lives of patients in need for care.”
The update comes after the younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, was named a mentor for the new initiative “35 under 35” for King’s Foundation. Just a day after the news was announced, the princess shared another cause that she has been working on.
