Post Malone, who is now engaged in a legal battle over the custody of his child, made a legal move that has brought him much advantage.
The 29-year-old singer filed the case for custody on Monday in Utah, which is two days before his ex-fiancée filed it in Los Angeles.
According to the court documents attained by Page Six, the Circles hitmaker filed earlier than Hee Sung “Jamie” Park which will save him a fortune, since California courts allow higher payments for child support.
Malone reportedly chose to file in Utah because Park and him were originally dividing 50/50 custody of their daughter in the state.
Park, whose identity is only now made public, moved to California in the beginning of 2025 after she and Malone at the end of 2024.
According to inside sources, Park’s move was meant to establish her permanent residency in California so that she could apply for custody in Los Angeles for better financial opportunities.
While Park had been planning the custody battle, the Sunflowers singer moved on with Christy Lee, whom he has been spotted in public since March.
Park and Malone welcomed their baby daughter and got engaged in 2022.
