Prince Harry, Meghan release stern statement ahead of security verdict
Prince Harry's security row over UK police protection gets important update
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who left their senior royal positions in 2020 to start their independent lives in the US, started their Archewell Foundation to keep up with their charitable work.
However, the foundation issued a stern message on Friday as it took a shocking decision drop a key partner.
“At the Archewell Foundation, we: Show Up, Do Good. Our values are an extension of those of our founders, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” the statement read.
“Our funding and grant support extends to individuals and organizations of all walks of life with varying political views, cultural beliefs, ideologies, and identifications. We do not discriminate. We believe change comes from building bridges. We welcome all.”
The foundation, on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stressed that they made the decision “out of respect for all of our partners, a responsibility to our donors, and in reflecting the values of our Principals.”
The message comes at the heels of the update in Prince Harry’s ongoing row about police protection in the UK for him and his family.
The Duke of Sussex had attended a two-day legal proceedings in the UK last week, in which Harry's lawyer claimed that the royal's "life's at stake".
According to reports, a ruling is expected in the coming weeks, and a source close to Harry’s legal team said they were “cautiously optimistic” about the outcome.
