Lil Nas X teases Taylor Swift collab after previously turning down her offer
Lil Nas X reveals he and Taylor Swift were once 'working on' her album together, but it didn't work out
Lil Nas X nearly teamed up with Taylor Swift, but the timing just wasn’t right.
Speaking to E! News at the GLAAD Media Awards on March 27, the 26-year-old rapper revealed that the international pop sensation, 34, had invited him to add a verse to one of her songs.
However, he ultimately passed on the opportunity.
“We were working on something. She offered to let me try a verse on something, but I couldn’t catch a vibe for it, so it didn’t happen,” he admitted.
That doesn’t mean he’s closed the door on working with Swift in the future. “When it happens… Global. World. Tay-tay and Nassy,” the Montero hitmaker teased.
Despite not hopping on a track together, Lil Nas X had nothing but praise for Swift’s success. “I’m proud of my girl,” he said. “I love the album. She’s been doing her thing. She’s at the very tippety top.”
Swift, who was nominated for six Grammys this year, is still riding high on the success of The Eras Tour, which grossed over $2 billion worldwide.
Meanwhile, Lil Nas X has been making waves with his own music. He recently dropped Days Before Dreamboy, an eight-track EP leading up to his highly anticipated sophomore album.
With both artists dominating their lanes, a collaboration might still be on the horizon. It just has to be the right song at the right time.
