Wendy Williams' guardian dismisses fears after TV star's plea for help
Sabrina Morrissey says Wendy Williams' claims are 'untrue, inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading'
Wendy Williams’ guardian, Sabrina Morrisey, is pushing back after the former talk show host painted a grim picture of her assisted living situation.
In a letter to TMZ published Tuesday, March 11, Sabrina Morrissey’s attorney dismissed Williams’ allegations as “untrue, inaccurate, incomplete or misleading.”
This includes Williams’ claim she is cut off from visitors, with the lawyer insisting she is free to see family and has traveled to Florida twice — once for her son Kevin Hunter Jr.’s graduation in December 2024 and again for her father’s birthday in February.
However, sources told TMZ that the February trip was initially blocked by a judge and only approved after her Saving Wendy documentary aired.
Morrissey’s attorney also defended the facility itself, describing its “excellent medical care, a spa, a workout room, excellent food, a dining room and outside terraces.”
Williams, however, told Good Day New York on Tuesday morning that she must “be permitted” to access these amenities, adding, “My money is, like, in the air.”
The former host of The Wendy Williams Show has reportedly signed paperwork to end her guardianship, which began in 2022. Morrissey’s lawyer claimed she did the same last year.
The latest back-and-forth comes days after Williams made headlines for dropping a handwritten note from her window reading, “Help! Wendy!!” prompting a police wellness check.
Williams, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia earlier this year, insists she is not “cognitively impaired” despite a judge ruling her “permanently incapacitated” in 2023.
She is expected to discuss her situation further on The View this Friday.
