Bruce Willis' wife speaks out on Gene Hackman's death: 'Caregivers need care too'

Emma Hemming Willis weighed in on Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa’s death case.

The Red 2 actress, who herself is a caregiver of her husband who is suffering from frontotemporal dementia, recently took to social media to reflect on a reality of life often taken lightly.

“Caregivers need care too. Period. Full stop. #supportcaregivers,” Emma, 42, wrote in the caption of the Instagram post dated March 10. 

The Die Hard star's wife shared that after viewing the whole scenario the food for thought from this is that “caregivers need care too”.

She noted, “It is so important that we show up for them so that they can continue to show up for their person”.

The Perfect Stranger actress further revealed that it is a “misconception that caregivers [have] got it figured out.”

This is not the first time that Emma has spoken about the struggles of caregiving.

She has been vocal about the commonly ignored issue since A Good Day to Die Hard actor’s frontotemporal dementia diagnosis in 2023 which followed his one-year aphasia battle.

For the unversed, the 69-year-old actor tied the knot with Emma in 2009. The duo shares two kids: Mabel Ray and Evelyn Penn.

Willis shares three daughters with his ex-wife Demi Moore - Rumer Glenn Willis, Scout LaRue Willis, and Tallulah Belle Willis.
