King Charles and Princess Diana may have had a fairy tale wedding but their marriage was anything but that, resulting in a heart-breaking and painful divorce.
The marriage, which lasted for around 15 years, was racked with infidelity rumours as details emerged in the news causing a PR disaster for the royal family and threatening the stability of the monarchy.
Unfortunately, after the divorce was finalised in August 1996, Diana tragically died in a car crash a year later in Paris along with her boyfriend at the time, Dodi Fayed.
Over the past five decades, Charles has maintained “tell-all journals”, a trait he picked from his mother Queen Elizabeth, which may become public once the monarch passes away, per RadarOnline report.
According to a source cited by the outlet, the king in a vulnerable moment confessed “stunning secrets and sins” in what appeared to be an act of “seeking forgiveness”.
The insider claimed that one of the confessions is about the suspicious death of his ex-wife and mother of his two sons. Charles believes he has “blood on his hands by sabotaging their marriage via his adulterous affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, his current wife and queen”.
“Charles refuses to take outright responsibility for Diana's death, but he knows how unhappy he made her by carrying on with Camilla for years,” they continued. “That unhappiness drove her over into the arms of Dodi Fayed — and sealed her fate.”
While the release of the alleged journals is still up for debate, no Palace source has verified the report.
