Dubai Police has initiated the "Donate Wisely" awareness campaign at the start of Ramadan to safeguard the public from deceptive beggars and ensure charitable contributions benefit those genuinely in need.
The police have warned residents not to fall for false stories from beggars roaming near streets, mosques, and public places.
Police said that these professional beggars misuse people’s generosity and donations.
Dubai Police urged the public to donate only to accredited charities and report any suspicious begging activities immediately.
The police officials emphasised that responsible donations not only safeguard the community but also ensure help reaches deserving individuals.
