Selena Gomez to drop new music before BAFTAs?
Selena Gomez set to release new music after saying she wants to focus on acting
Selena Gomez is going to drop new music before BAFTA on February 14 after revealing she wants to focus on acting.
According to a report published by The Sun, the singer is all set to release the single with her fans on Valentine’s Day
“Selena will drop the track ahead of battling it out for Best Supporting Actress for Netflix movie Emilia Prerez at the BAFTAs in London,” said an insider.
It is pertinent to note that the Only Murders in the Building actress decided to spend her first romantic holiday with new fiancé Benny Blanco.
Selena previously released her song My Mind & Me, which was for her documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, in 2022.
The singer-turned-actress hinted that her next album might be her last, as she would like to focus on acting.
It came after Selena mentioned that some “of the magic has disappeared” after the Emilia Perez controversy.
The musical crime movie faced media backlash after Karla Sofia Gascon’s string of racist tweets in the past were highlighted that had referred to the Muslim community and the late George Floyd.
Nevertheless, Selena was also subjected to a mean tweet, where the Spanish actress appeared to called her a “rich brat”
While speaking up about Karla scandal at the Santa Barbara Film Festival on Sunday, the singer, who received the Virtuosos Award, claimed, “Some of the magic has disappeared.”
“But I choose to continue to be proud of what I've done and I'm just grateful.'
Selena added, “I live with no regrets, and I would do this movie over and over again if I could.”
