Ariana Grande reveals major shift in 'Wicked: For Good': 'Quite different'
Ariana Grande teases a major change in the upcoming second part of 'Wicked'
Ariana Grande is hinting at a major tonal shift in Wicked: For Good.
The singer and actress, 31, attended the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 9, where she teased what fans can expect from the second installment of the Wicked saga.
Speaking with Dave Karger, Grande revealed that while Part One focused on choices, For Good will explore what comes next.
"It’s very special. It’s very emotional," she said. "I think the second movie really embodies unconditional love and forgiveness and friendship. And you'll have to wait and see, but it is quite different."
She went on to explain how the sequel will dive deeper into the consequences of the characters’ actions. "You get to see people reap the… bear the repercussions for their choices that they make in movie one," she added. "So if movie one is about choices, movie two is about consequences."
Wicked: Part One ended with the powerful number Defying Gravity, as Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba and Grande’s Glinda parted ways. For Good will pick up where the Broadway show’s second act begins, bringing their journeys to a dramatic conclusion.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see how it all plays out — Wicked: For Good hits theaters on November 21.
