Lady Gaga breaks silence on changing famous stage moniker
Lady Gaga talks about stage name and her upcoming album in a candid interview
Lady Gaga has recently expressed her admiration for her stage name and never wants to change it.
In a new interview with Elle magazine, the pop icon discussed her upcoming album Mayhem along with her famous moniker.
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, responded to a question about whether she would ever change her stage name.
To which, the songstress said, “No! I love being Lady Gaga. I love being me.”
Gaga recalled becoming a star at 20, adding how everything “gets reflected back to you that this persona is what makes you special”.
Elaborating on how she got this iconic stage name, the Bad Romance crooner mentioned that her former boyfriend as well as music producer Rob Fusari used to call her ‘Gaga’.
The reason was her voice and style reminded her ex of Queen's song, Radio Ga Ga.
Elsewhere in the interview, Gaga shared her working experience on her seventh studio album, which will be released on March 7.
“The chaos I thought was long gone is fully intact and ready to greet me whenever I’d like,” stated the 38-year-old.
The songstress further said that the message conveyed behind her first song on the album is that “your demons are with you in the beginning and they are with you in the end, and I don’t mean it in a bleak way”.
Meanwhile, Gaga noted that there's a way to “make friends sooner with this reality instead of running all the time” as she inclined towards the darkness with her new music.
