Charli XCX spills reason behind bowing out of performing at Brit Awards
Charli XCX reveals reason behind shocking decision after earning five nominations at Brits Awards
Charli XCX has recently decided to bow out of performing at this year's Brit Awards even after her nominations.
A source spilled to The Sun that Charli backed out of a planned performance because of the “added pressure”.
The source revealed that Charli’s team were in negotiations with Brits for months but she finally decided she didn’t want to pressurise herself.
It is because she would be performing at the Grammys on this Sunday, February 2 and then doing the same at the Brits on March 1 “felt like it was too much” for her.
Another source opened up that Charli would go to Brits but she would like to “let her hair down” without the pressure of having to deliver a performance.
Now, the outlet reported that in place of Charli, Jade Thirlwall is now scheduled to take to the stage.
Meanwhile, Charli previously made headlines when her No1 album Brat became a cultural phenomenon last year.
Charli reportedly earned nominations at Brits in five categories including Song Of The Year for Guess ft. Billie Eilish, Artist Of The Year, Dance Act, Pop Act, and the sought-after Album Of The Year.
Interestingly, Taylor Swift will compete with Billie Eilish in the International Artist Of The Year category, which also features Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan as well as for the International Song Of The Year accolade.
