Neil Gaiman faces another major blow amid sexual assault allegations

Neil Gaiman has reportedly been dropped by his comic book publisher as multiple allegations of sexual assault and harassment.

On January 24, the Dark Horse Comics announced on social media that they are no longer associated with American Gods author.

“Dark Horse takes seriously the allegations against Neil Gaiman and we are no longer publishing his works,” wrote the Oregon-based company on X.

Dark Horse further confirmed in the post that they had cancelled the Anansi Boys comic series, an adaptation of the Neil’s 2005 novel.

It is pertinent to noted that seven of the comics in the eight-part series had already been published.

Following his sexual assault claims, Neil also left production of the third season of Prime Video’s Good Omens adaptation, which will now conclude with a single 90-minute episode, per Variety.

The outlet reported that Disney’s The Graveyard Book, a movie adaptation of Neil’s 2008 book, has also been paused, and Netflix’s Dead Boy Detectives, co-created by the author, has been cancelled.

However, it’s not clear whether these moves were directly related to the allegations against Neil.

Meanwhile, the upcoming second season of The Sandman, is still expected to release on Netflix as planned.
