Mandy Moore fires back at haters over GoFundMe backlash
Mandy Moore brutally claps back at critics
Mandy Moore won’t just sit back and let people pass criticism over the way she decided to raise awareness for her in-laws' struggles.
On Thursday, the 40-year-old actress defended her decision to post a GoFundMe link for her in-laws after their home was lost to the devastating wildfires.
"Yesterday, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law Griff and Kit lost their home and everything they own in the Eaton Fire," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.
She further explained in the post that, Griff and Kit are just weeks away from welcoming their first child into this world, and are in dire need of support after losing their home and belongings to the fire.
Her brother-in-law’s musician career has come to a halt due to losing his instruments, making the situation even more complicated.
The This Is Us star encouraged her fans and people to make donations for her family and shared a GoFundMe link to help the couple get back on their feet.
However, the actress turned off her comments section, clarifying, "People questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money google says someone has is not helpful or empathetic. Of course we are."
"Our buddy Matt started this and I'm only sharing it because people have asked how they can help them. We just lost most of our life in a fire too. Kindly f*** off. No one is forcing you to do anything," she stated.
