'The Batman' director Matt Reeves unravels story of upcoming 2026 sequel
Robert Pattinson and Colin Farrell are set to reunite in 'Batman 2'
Robert Pattinson starrer The Batman: Part 2’s plot has been finally teased by director Matt Reeves.
The 2022 film showcased how the 'Riddler' took revenge on Gotham City, setting explosives which brought a devastating flood.
Batman fans are now waiting for the superhero to take revenge and bring justice to the city in the upcoming installment.
While describing the new storyline, Matt opened that the first film had a lot of 'unrest in streets' and the 'idea of corruption extends as deep as it could'.
As far as the DC hero is concerned, he looked at things ‘very simplistically’, in ‘black and white’.
While delving into the Part 2, the director revealed that the next film has a lot of ‘grey’ in it.
"As we enter into the next movie, there's a lot more grey”, he told to Digital Spy. "There's a lot more people at odds. There’s a lot more division in the city.”
“It's a lot more like our world is now, there's a lot of turmoil because people are in their camps and they're not communicating."
The 58-year-old shared about the struggles 'Batman' will have to face to fit into the whole situation.
"How does Batman fit into that? Where do you fit? It's not as clear as going, 'Oh yeah, bad guy, I go after bad guys.”
"And when things are in grey, it makes it very hard to be Batman, so this is part of the challenge as we enter it”, continued Reeves.
The Batman: Part 2 is expected to come out on October 2, 2026. It will also star Colin Farrell as ‘Penguin.’
