Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds trigger fans with ‘working class’ comments
Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds are on fans’ hit list after claiming they belong to 'working class' background
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds sparked debate among fans with the latest controversial statement.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Deadpool star described his wife, often labelled a "nepo baby," as coming from a working-class background.
"We both grew up very working class," he said when discussing parenting their four children. "I remember when they were very young, I used to say or think, like, 'Oh God, I would never have had a gift like this when I was a kid,' or, 'I never would’ve had this luxury of getting takeout,' or whatever."
However, fans quickly pointed out that the It Ends With Us actress, who comes from a family of actors, might need to revisit the claim of belonging to the working class.
"Quick search: She grew up in Tarzana and then went to Burbank High. Her whole family was in the entertainment business. She was cast in Sisterhood for the Traveling Pants while she was a teen. It’s giving at least middle classroom," one fan blasted on social media.
"Just because her parents worked doesn’t make them working class," another added sarcastically.
"You keep using that word 'working class.' I do not think it means what you think it means," a third commented.
In the interview, Reynolds, 48, was shedding light that he and the Gossip Girl alum prioritise providing their children—James, 10, Inez, eight, Betty, five, and Olin, one—with an upbringing away from the spotlight despite their high-profile careers.
