Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan, and Dua Lipa get together at Christmas special
James Corden invites Chappell Roan, Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga for Christmas show
Queens of pop, Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan and Dua Lipa are ready to sing their hearts out at James Corden’s holiday special show.
The official Instagram page of Apple TV announced A Very Carpool Karaoke Christmas, a holiday special, released on Sunday night on the platform.
Zane Lowe takes on the role of the host for all three segments of the hour-long special episode.
In the teaser, Corden introduces him as the guest driver and duet partner.
Lowe’s mission for the show was to carpool through Missouri for Roan, Tokyo for Lipa, and Los Angeles for Gaga around Los Angeles.
The last ‘drive’ ended with Lowe joining Gaga’s band on electric guitar for a cover of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town that is also being released independently as an audio track.
The hour-long show brings back the old-school Christmas spirit where each guest performed classic holiday hits as well as renditions of their own songs.
Lipa played along to the Ronettes’ Sleigh Ride, while Roan performed Wham’s Last Christmas.
Whereas Gaga sang her own Christmas song, telling Lowe that her preference in Christmas music is for “something wholesome and sentimental… you know, a song that the whole family can get together and sing.”
The songstress then broke into 2008 single Christmas Tree, which included bits of Deck the Halls.
Roan paid tribute to Gaga in the beginning of her segment, by introducing the audience to a chicken named after the popstar, as she lead Lowe through her parents’ farm .
