Jim Carrey has recently discussed about his acting comeback with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie after two years.
Speaking at the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 premiere in London, the actor, who reprises his role as Doctor Robotnik in a new movie, revealed why he signed on to do the third installment of the movie based on the Sega video game.
“I came back to this universe because, first of all, I get to play a genius, which is a bit of a stretch,” he told the Associated Press.
Jim continued, “And, you know, it’s just… I bought a lot of stuff and I need the money, frankly.”
Earlier in April 2022, the Ace Ventura actor announced about his retirement from acting while promoting the sequel to Sonic, the Hedgehog.
At the time, Jim spoke to Access Hollywood, “I’m being fairly serious. It depends.”
“If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink, that says to me that it’s going to be important for people to see, I might continue down the road. But I’m taking a break,” explained The Mask actor.
Now, when AP asked during the premiere on December 10 about what he said in 2022, Jim replied, “That might have been hyperbole.”
Meanwhile, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is slated to release in theatres on December 20 from Paramount Pictures.
