Demi Moore admits quitting acting career
Demi Moore opened up about leaving Hollywood before she bagged a role in The Substance.
The G.I Jane star marked her appearance at the SFFILM Awards in San Francisco, where she was honoured with the Maria Manetti Shrem Award.
While accepting the accolade, Moore spoke about ending her career prior to The Substance.
“At the beginning of 2022, I had a moment where I was at an event and I felt I didn't belong,” she said. “I didn't know why I was there. I wanted to be invisible and I couldn't figure out how to get out.”
But, she got an offer for a new film, before actually stepping out from the industry.
“You know what? Maybe my time doing this is complete. Maybe I've done everything I was supposed to do.’ Two weeks later, the script for The Substance came across my desk.”
The 62-year-old further stated that she was so grateful for not quitting from the industry.
The Ghost star was also nominated for the Best Female Actor at the Golden Globes for the movie which saved her career.
In the film, she plays an ageing actress who obtained a black-market drug to create a younger version of herself, leading to disastrous consequences.
For the unknown, Demi Moore is currently starring in a Tv series Landman, which released it's first episode on November, 17.
