Katie Holmes has recently broken her silence on claims that her former husband Tom Cruise set up a million-dollar trust fund for their daughter, Suri Cruise.
On December 8, the Dawson’s Creek star took to Instagram and addressed a report from the Daily Mail that alleged her 18-year-old daughter had reached millionaire status after trust fund from Top Gun actor had “kicked in”.
The story further said that Suri received an additional trust fund from Katie.
Over a screenshot of the article, Katie wrote, “Completely False” and “Daily mail you can stop making stuff up.”
Captioning the post, the Alone Together actress wrote, “Enough.”
Katie's fans showed her support in the comment section, with one said, “Keep ‘em straight Katie. We appreciate it.”
“I admire you for standing up to lying nonsense like the Daily Mail. These tabloids are nothing but trash out to ruin lives,” another remarked.
A third user added, “I think it’s great you called them out on their pathetic storyline.”
Katie, who was previously married to Tom between 2006 and 2012, welcomed their only daughter together in 2006.
“I am proud of my daughter,” stated the First Daughter star while speaking to Town & Country in an August profile.
Katie told the outlet, “Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy.”
“I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that,” explained the actress.
