Sophia Bush spills beans from ‘One Tree Hill’ sequel developments
Sophia Bush hints at reunion in 'One Tree Hill' sequel: 'Reunite our whole ragtag bunch'
Sophia Bush is as excited for the sequel as the One Tree Hill fans, revealing that the team is working hard to bring it to life as they envisioned.
After the news of the sequel leaked earlier, Bush expressed her frustration to Access but also offered an insider's scoop on its development.
“It’s unfortunate when development news leaks early. That was a bit of a bummer for us, because we wanted to get it across the finish line and then have a party,” Bush told the outlet.
Returning as an executive producer alongside Burton Morgan, Bush shared that the process of bringing the series back has been "really incredible."
“The fans have kept that show alive, and they’ve asked for it for so long, and the studio came to us about it,” she explained. “I think 10 years ago, I would have said, ‘Not on your life.’ And now I realise that the opportunity to have not just a comfort show, but kind of a home base, matters for people.”
“And so, beginning to figure out how we might tell these stories and reunite our whole ragtag bunch feels really, really amazing,” Bush revealed her enthusiasm for reuniting the cast, anticipating, “If it happens, I think you’ll be very pleased."
According to Deadline, the sequel is set 20 years after the original series, following best friends Brooke (Davis) and Peyton (Burton Morgan) as they navigate life from teenagers to parents, with their own children facing familiar challenges like love, insecurities, and grief.
