Inside Liam Payne, Cheryl's 'unconventional' parenting approach
Liam Payne, Cheryl redefined co-parenting norms despite split
Liam Payne and Cheryl were doting parents to their only son Bear, before the singer tragically passed away last month.
The former One Direction member, who plunged to death from the third-floor balcony of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, embraced fatherhood at the age of 23.
His ex-wife Cheryl announced the birth of their son in a heartwarming post on Instagram alongside a caption that read, "On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts."
Both Bear’s parents were very much invested in his well-being despite their split on July 2, 2018.
The former X Factor contestant told Total Access in May 2017 about coming up with a reasonable name for the couple’s only son.
He said at the time, "It was like an internal battle. I wanted a more traditional name and she wanted a name that was more unusual. And the reason she chose Bear in the end was because Bear is a name that when you leave a room, you won't forget. And I like that. When I look at him, he's just Bear."
In addition, Liam revealed that he was not on-board with the decision at first, expressing his disappointment in non-traditional names.
The 31-year-old and his wife at the time, chose not to share any pictures of their little one, mindful of the singer’s celebrity status.
For the unversed, Liam passed away on October 16, leaving a lasting impression on his fans worldwide.
