Liam Payne's death sparks debate as fans demand new 'legislation'

Following the death of Liam Payne, a demand for a new legislation has been circulating all over the internet enticing around 25,000 signatures.

Reportedly, Liam was acting 'erratically' prior to his death. According to the hotel staff, under the effect of alcohol and drugs, the former was found breaking things in his hotel room where he was residing.

The singer’s demise has left fans extremely heartbroken. An change.org petition has been signed in the honour of the 31-year-old artist named, 'Enact legislation to safeguard artists mental health in the entertainment industry.'

Nearly 25,000 signatories have come out with a hashtag ‘Liam’s Law’ calling out the entertainment industry to be held 'accountable and responsible' for the welfare of the artists.

“We implore lawmakers to create legislation safeguarding the mental health of artists within the industry”, read the petition.

The requisition demands a law ensuring regular mental health follow ups, presence of medical professionals on-set to guarantee mental comfort, and suitable rest periods, reports the Pink News.

The petition came out after Sharon Osbourne mentioned, in her tribute to the Teardrops singer, being 'let down' by the entertainment industry.

Liam Payne passed away after on October 16 after falling down from the balcony of a Buenos Aires hotel in Argentina. He was staying in the country to attend former One Direction band member, Niall Horan’s concert.
