Ben Affleck’s erratic behaviour drove Jennifer Lopez to divorce

Jennifer Lopez couldn’t keep up with Ben Affleck’s dramatic mood swings, ultimately contributing to their divorce.

A source told People on Saturday, August 24, that despite their deep love for each other, Affleck was to be held responsible for the split with Lopez, 55, due to his erratic mood swings.

"The truth is there was a great deal of love, but also, unfortunately, what became clear were Ben's erratic mood swings that he couldn't hide from the press," the insider claimed.

"You could see the erratic behaviour, the giant mood swings," they described how The Accountant star would go from "being incredibly happy and warm — the best light that emanated from him" to exuding "the deepest, darkest behaviour."

The insider further revealed that the On the Floor hitmaker and Affleck, 52, tried to work things out, "but when the mood swings and the big highs and big lows informed a toxicity that was pervasive, no one can help you."

"The world was rooting for them, but who he said he was and who he turned out to be were two different people," the source added.

The Atlas actress filed for divorce on the second anniversary of her and Affleck’s Southern wedding in Georgia in 2022, following their legal marriage in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022.
