Peter Dinklage wants 'The Toxic Avenger' reboot to reach wider audience
Peter Dinklage champions 'The Toxic Avenger' director Macon Blair: 'Incredible' talent
Peter Dinklage is eager for his film, The Toxic Avenger reboot, to reach a wider audience. When asked about a potential wide release, he told (link unavailable), "No, I'm not a producer on it. I don't know."
However, he expressed his enthusiasm for the film, saying, "I do want it to get out there into the world because it was a really big hit at Fantastic Fest in Austin, and Macon Blair, the writer/director... He's incredible. He's one of my favourite people and favourite artists."
The Game of Thrones alum added, “So hopefully it will have its day in the toxic sun.”
The Toxic Avenger, a modern retelling of the 1984 cult classic, stars Peter Dinklage as Winston Gooze, a terminally ill janitor turned mutant hero after falling into toxic waste.
Seeking revenge against societal injustices, Winston becomes the Toxic Avenger. The horror-comedy film, which boasts a 92% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, has yet to announce a release date despite its successful premiere at Fantastic Fest in September 2023.
The movie features an ensemble cast, including Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon.
Meanwhile, a new comic book series based on The Toxic Avenger is set to debut on October 9, courtesy of AHOY Comics and creators Matt Bors and Fred Harper.
