Presumed Innocent is set for a second season following its success as Apple TV+'s most-watched drama series.
Deadline reported on Friday, July 12, that the network has ordered a new season of the legal thriller, with season one star Jake Gyllenhaal returning. The series will also continue to have David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams on board.
Author Scott Turow will co-executive produce the upcoming season with the Road House star, who plays the lead role, serving as an executive producer as well.
The news comes within a month of the first season's debut, which quickly became the most-viewed drama on Apple TV+.
While specific details about the new season remain under wraps, it has been revealed that it will revolve around a "suspenseful, brand-new case."
Returning executive producers include Rachel Rusch Rich, Dustin Thomson, and Matt Tinker, alongside Kelley, Abrams, and Gyllenhaal.
The second season announcement follows the first season's nearing conclusion, with the final two episodes set to air on July 17 and July 24.
Presumed Innocent is produced by Abrams' Bad Robot Productions and David E. Kelley Productions in association with Warner Bros.
