WhatsApp unveils new change in group chats
Meta app is stepping up to help users, enhance media security with new option
WhatsApp, a Meta app, is reportedly developing a new feature that will permit users to see all media, which is shared in community group chats.
This feature will allow community members to see an overview of all images, videos, and other media files shared within the community. This will make it easier for users to find and access shared content, as per WABetaInfo.
“This can help in maintaining their own community guidelines, ensuring that inappropriate content is identified and addressed promptly,” the report said.
Moreover, this upcoming feature will also help community members, who are not extensively active in certain group chats as they will be allowed to access media shared in those chats, through which it can be ensured that they stay informed and are able to catch up on important updates, it added.
WhatsApp’s upcoming feature will be accessible through a future update of the app and is currently under development.
By providing a centralised location to browse all shared media, this new feature will simplify the search process, as mentioned by the report.
Additionally, a feature that will restrict users from taking screenshots of profile pictures on iOS is also being worked on by WhatsApp.
A message will appear on the screen notifying users about the new update that taking screenshots of profile photos has been blocked. This has been done to protect everyone’s privacy on the app, as per WABetaInfo.
