WhatsApp rolls out new events feature
Meta app users can now easily keep up with birthdays, events
WhatsApp, a social media messaging app, has released a new events feature which will help users to keep up with groups belonging together, connected and organised.
To help bring communities more closer together, the Meta-owned messaging app said that it was introducing a new way for users to organise events on WhatsApp, according to IOL.
Whether, it’s setting up a virtual meeting or birthday dinner, the new feature will make it easier for the users to plan their get-togethers directly on the platform, according to WhatsApp.
Any user can make an event and other users can respond so that the whole group is aware about which members of the group will be attending the event.
When the event is getting closer, guests of the event can also find the event in the group’s information page. Moreover, those who will be going will get an automatic notification.
Over the coming months, the new feature will be rolled out to all groups. However, the new events feature will be available to groups that belong to a Community first
Additionally, WhatsApp will also be launching organised replies to Announcement Groups so that the members can respond to important updates from group admins.
