Gabrielle Union got Met Gala ‘mermaid’ look approved by ‘shady baby’

Gabrielle Union doesn’t need all the approvals for her 2024 Met Gala mermaid look but one.

Union stunned on Monday’s star-studded night along with her husband Dwyane Wade. The star's outfit was in accordance with the night’s theme "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion", with her being dressed in a Michael Kors water-inspired silver and green gown, which made her look like a "mermaid".

The Idea of You producer styled Paloma Picasso for Tiffany & Co. Archives earrings, an Elsa Peretti Starfish brooch, a bracelet in platinum with a green tourmaline and diamonds, a bracelet in platinum with a black opal and diamonds, and rings in platinum and rings in platinum with blue vyprians to accessorise her dress.

The 51-year-old gushed to Entertainment Tonight getting the approval of the only person she needs over her outfit.

"Mission accomplished," she said of her 5-year-old daughter, Kaavia James Wade's sentiments.

"There's only one girl we care about what we look like and that's pleasing Shady Baby. She was like, 'Mommy, you look like a mermaid!'"

Union was accompanied by her husband Wade, looking dapper in a lilac purple suit, with a white T-shirt underneath, styled with black shoes.
