Demi Lovato back to Met Gala 8 years after calling it ‘fake’
Met Gala 2024 gets graced by Demi Lovato’s attendance almost a decade after ‘uncomfortable’ statement
Demi Lovato seemed to back out on her rash statements about the Met Gala after 8 years and appeared at the star-studded 2024 event in a silver gown by Prabal Gurung.
The Heart Attack singer, 31, styled her long hair straight and embraced the theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” with sparkling floral accents.
She accessorised the shimmering look with a diamond necklace and silver earrings.
Eight years ago, in 2016, the songstress attended the event, and had a not-so-good experience.
The singer posted a since-deleted photo with the hashtags, “#cool #sof—kingawkward #notforme,” at the time.
“This picture pretty much summed up my first and probably last met,” the “Camp Rock” star wrote.
“This one celebrity was a complete b*tch and was miserable to be around. It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink,” she reflected on her experience in an interview two years later.
She recalled leaving the event and heading to AA meeting, as per Page Six.
“I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds on—millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting,” she revealed.
She added, “And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala—fake and sucking the fashion industry’s d—k.”
