Dua Lipa recently made an intense date in ‘Challengers-inspired’ sketch on Saturday Night Live.
Audiences were treated with a mimickry of Luca Guadagnino’s latest film Challengers during a sketch featuring the 28-year-old popstar.
Playing an intense woman, who had invited a date over to her apartment, Lipa played a host to Marcello Hernandez.
To his surprise, the Albanian singer’s apartment was loaded with a large collection of bizarre little dolls.
Referring to the dolls as Sonny Angels, Lipa explained: “They’re companions for 25-year-old working women.”
After Lipa left the room, one of the dolls came to life. Played by Bowen Yang, the doll engaged in a witty banter with Hernandez, who feared that he might have to compete for Lipa’s attention.
“I haven’t seen the movie,” Hernández admitted, to which Yang replied: “Well, don’t worry, cause you’re about to live it.”
With score from Challengers playing in the background, Lipa entered the living room alongside a plate of churros.
She alluded to the scene in the film where Mike Faist’s character feeds Josh O’Connor’s character a churro.
“Finally, two boys who can actually compete,” the Radical Optimism star claimed.
