Neom Bay Airport: All you need to know about its cutting-edge tech
Saudi Arabia's Neom shows off advanced facilities to Jawazat chief
Neom was visited by Jawazat chief and lieutenant general Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Yahya to experience the tour of the wonderful sustainable development in northwest Saudi Arabia.
Most prominently, Al-Yahya's tour included Neom Bay Airport and its advanced command-and-control centre out of other significant facilities. He was welcomed by Neom’s CEO, Nadhmi Al Nasrl, according to Saudi Gazette.
Neom Bay Airport’s latest innovations were explored by Al Yahya during his visit, especially its upcoming contactless eGates. For streamlined passport control, these eGates use high-resolution cameras to capture travellers' biometrics.
Though, this system is currently under trial, it promises a remarkable travel experience for international travellers. In addition, it places Saudi Arabia among the few countries, which are implementing such advanced automated border control systems.
The ongoing collaboration between Neom and Jawazat was underscored by this visit, which aims to upgrade the traveller experience through knowledge exchange and the combination of cutting-edge technologies, including AI-driven real-time analytics and predictive systems in Neom's security operations.
Notably, the Neom area is approximately the same size as Belgium, which might make it easier to visualise how big the linear city is aimed to be.
Including some coastal sections that could offer up beach access and views over the sea, the length also means it will experience multiple different types of microclimates, alongside other parts that are far hotter and drier.
