Zendaya promotes upcoming film with special tribute
Zendaya recreates Tennis star looks in new Instagram post
Zendaya promoted her new film The Challengers by giving a special tribute to female tennis players.
Law Roach, the stylist for the 27-year-old actress, posted on Instagram on Thursday, detailing how he replicated Venus and Serena William's iconic appearance from their 1998 Vogue cover, which was photographed by Annie Leibovitz.
Zendaya is shown in the photo looking stunning in a black-and-white striped Carolina Herrera ball gown. Her hair is fashioned in the same white beaded braids that the two wore for their photo shoot.
“An ode to the GREATS @venuswilliams @serenawilliams We thank you for all you've done! With Love, Z and Law,” Law captioned the snap.
Serena re-shared the post on her Instagram stories whereas Venus commented: “Wow. No words! So much love for you.”
She also reposted Zendaya’s look on her story, penning, “My heart melted on this one. Iconic @zendaya.”
The Euphoria actress previously talked to People magazine about the inspiration behind her portrayal of Tashi Duncan in The Challengers, a portrayal of a budding tennis player who gives up on her goals following a serious accident.
Crediting the “mothers in and around her life,” Zendaya had said, “I have many, many nieces and nephews, so they’re like my borrowed children, you know? I get to have fun and give them back to their parents.”
