Taylor Swift closes 'saddest' chapter of her life with new album
Taylor Swift frees herself from shackles of ex Joe Alwyn with new album, The Tortured Poets Department
Taylor Swift penned a heartfelt note following the release of her much-awaited album The Tortured Poets Department.
Taking to Instagram, the globally known music artist admitted to closing the painful story of her life, seemingly hinting at her breakup with Joe Alwyn.
The singer shared a series of black and white photos of herself from the new album and revealed that she bids farewell to the sorrowful phase of her life with a new album.
Swift wrote, "The Tortured Poets Department. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure."
She added, "This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up."
Swift believes the writer's "tears become holy in the form of ink on a page." She added, "Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it."
In the end of her note, the musician said, "And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry."
It is pertinent to mention that The Tortured Poets Department is Swift's eleventh studio album, which she announced at the Grammys in February.
