Taylor Swift is getting a whole radio station dedicated to her, and the title couldn’t be more fitting.
Swifties will finally be able to listen to their favourite Taylor Swift songs all day, everyday on the Radio as SiriusXM announced their new limited-time channel called "Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version)."
“Over the years you’ve asked us for a Taylor Swift channel, and trust us, we’ve been listening!” the broadcasting service announced on X (previously Twitter) on Tuesday, April 2.
The moniker, “Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version),” is a perfect tribute to the international pop sensation, given her love for the number 13 – which she considers her lucky number.
In 2009, she explained to MTV News, “I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first No .1 song had a 13-second intro. Every time I’ve won an award I’ve been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter. Basically whenever a 13 comes up in my life, it’s a good thing.”
But there’s another Easter Egg in the launch of the channel that would make Swift herself proud.
The channel will begin on Sunday, April 7, 2024, and will be available until May 6.
SiriusXM explained, “The 13th day of the channel, Friday, April 19, coincides with the release of Taylor Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department.”
The channel will then play the entire album, start to finish over its release weekend.
