Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz got candid about how he stormed off of the set after he was disrespected.
The former Disney child actor, 38, was chatting with reality TV co-stars on I’m A Celebrity Australia when he recalled the shocking story of why he was missing from two episodes of the series, via news.com.au.
“There were two episodes I’m not in. I walked off the set,” Muniz said, explaining that his actions were due to set tensions.
“Everyone was so afraid to stand up when certain people were controlling or rude or disrespectful. Like they walked on pins and needles. I was so mortified by seeing people afraid to stand up for themselves, I was like: ‘Say something.’”
He continued, “I didn’t care if they told me I was never going back, because it was worth it to me. It helped that the show was based around me.”
Muniz starred as the titular Malcolm opposite Jane Kaczmarek, Bryan Cranston, Christopher Masterson, Justin Berfield and more.
The hit show earned Muniz a Golden Globe nomination and he went on to star into movies such as Big Fat Liar and Agent Cody Banks.
