Jake Gyllenhaal opens on playing ‘classic’ Batman role
Jake Gyllenhaal talked about playing batman while promoting his latest movie
Jake Gyllenhaal would love to play Batman.
The actor said that it “would be an honour” to portray the Dark Knight.
“Oh, man. That’s a classic. It’s an honour,” he said while promoting his new movie Road House in an interview with Screen Rant.
“Speaking of playing roles that other incredible actors have played in the past, to me actually roles that other incredible actors have played in the past, which, to me, actually, when I think about it, I’m going to play Iago in Othello with Denzel Washington, and I think about like the history of actors that have played that role throughout time, and I’m intimidated by that.”
He continued, “So that’s the first level. That’s what I’m working on right now. But of course. It would be an honour always. Those types of things and those roles are classics.”
Before Christian Bale landed the role, Gyllenhaal was the choice to play Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy.
After his comments about playing Batman got famous, the actor was asked to share his thoughts on what he thinks of people discussing his perspective everywhere.
“One interview… I knew it… Someone asked me and… Of course, I would be flattered. Anyone would be,” Gyllenhaal said in an interview with Extra.
