Meagan Good's 'Happiest in a Long Time' with Jonathan Majors
Meagan Good stands by Jonathan Majors in first awards show since assault verdict
Meagan Good and her boyfriend Jonathan Majors made a glam appearance at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles over the weekend.
This marked their first major awards show outing as a couple since Jonathan's guilty verdict for assault in December 2023, concerning a domestic violence case unrelated to Good.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE on the red carpet, the 42-year-old actress opened up about her current state amidst the challenges in her acting career and personal life.
Good expressed, "I'm in love, I’m transitioning, I’m healing, I’m growing, and I’m getting excited about what's next," referencing her relationship with Majors, who is 34 years old.
She added, "Yeah, just a lot of things at once. But what I can say is, I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time."
Amidst various endeavors, the actress expressed her enthusiasm for the show Harlem.
Good's remarks come as Amazon Prime renewed Harlem for a third season in December, set for release later this year.
She shared her excitement for her role in Tyler Perry's upcoming Amazon movie, Divorce in the Black, where she portrays a banking professional grappling with the aftermath of her husband's abandonment.
In her statement, Good emphasized self-love and embraced the journey of growth, affirming her confidence in herself and the opportunities unfolding in her career.
"I keep my eyes on God, you know, that’s the focus," she stated. "And I stay true to myself and I stay authentic.
I know what I know that I know. And in time, everything else just catches up with what you know, if you’re true to yourself and you’re authentic."
