The popularity of Kate Middleton and Prince William surpasses that of King Charles royal experts claimed.

The Blaze TV host Lauren Chen has suggested that Prince William and Princess Kate are "more important" to the Royal Family than King Charles, as two senior royals remain absent from public duties.

King Charles is currently being treated for "a form of cancer" and the Princess of Wales is recovering from a planned abdominal procedure at Adelaide Cottage, meaning both are not working until they are back to full health.

Prince William and Queen Camilla have stepped up their diary of engagements in their absence, as well as the Duchess of Edinburgh.

However, speculation has been rife as to the condition of the Princess of Wales, following the King's candid and public statements on his health.

The monarch recently told Prime Minister Rishi Sunak he was "reduced to tears" by the overwhelming support.

Kensington Palace has remained stern about the Princess's condition, reaffirming she will not return to duties until "after Easter".

Discussing the growing concerns for the Princess and the pressure on Prince William to look after both the monarchy and his family, Lauren Chen told GBN America that popularity for the royal couple as future King and Queen has succeeded that of King Charles.

Chen told host Mark Dolan that Prince William is "not just representing himself and his family, but really the nation" in recent months.

However, Chen noted it is "very understandable" that Prince William's priority is Kate and their children as she recovers from surgery.

Chen told GBN America: "We know that he's going to be ascending to the throne sooner rather than later, perhaps, depending on the King's health.
