Vanessa Kirby is all set to team up with The Crown’s director Benjamin Caron for an upcoming movie, The Night Always Comes.

The movie is reportedly an adaptation of Willy Vlautin’s 2021 novel, which showcases the story of “a working-class woman in the Pacific Northwest who begins on a 24-hour quest to call in old debts and raise enough money to keep a roof over her head,” via Deadline.

The Night Always Comes movie’s screenplay will be written by Seattle-based screenwriter Sarah Conradt, who also penned Mothers’ Instinct and 50 States of Fright.

The outlet reported that Vlautin’s 2010 book, Lean on Pete was formerly adapted and directed by Andrew Haigh in 2017. His debut book, The Mobile Life, was filmed in 2012.

This new movie will shoot on locations in Portland in May prior to Kirby filming her role as Sue Storm, also known as Invisible Woman in The Fantastic Four reboot, which is going to be directed by Matt Shakman later this year.

For the unversed, Kirby earlier played the role of Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of The Crown which were mostly directed by Caron, who also helmed Andor and Sharper.

Meanwhile, Netflix has acquired rights of this movie for release.
