Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce shared an emotional exchange as for the first time since the 2023 Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs squared off against each other, with the Kelce twins taking centre stage.
It was their fourth meeting overall, reported People.
The Chiefs played the Eagles at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night, but the Eagles prevailed 21-17 this time.
Jason and Travis ran into each other on the pitch just after the game. They hugged and laughed for a little while before Travis went to his locker room and Jason kept saying hello to everybody.
The moment they shared on the pitch following the Chiefs' 38-35 victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII in February was a little more emotional than this one.
Travis defeated Jason for the third time in their series of meetings in the historic game, which also marked the first time siblings on rival teams faced off in the final.
The brothers rushed up to each other to have a touching moment on the pitch as the game's time ran out.
Jason, the older brother called out to his distraught sibling saying, "Come here," as he went in for an embrace. Well done, Travis. Many congratulations."
"I love you, big guy," Travis responded. Jason then replied, "I love you, too. Good job. Go celebrate."
Travis was heard saying, "I don't know what to tell you, big guy," as his brother urged him to "go celebrate."
It seemed like Travis was at a loss for words. Jason responded, "I love you," before Travis got caught up in the joyous occasion. My most enjoyable year ever."
The Eagles and Chiefs play their sixth game of the season on Monday night. Both brothers are players on their respective teams.
When they faced up for the first time in 2013, Travis was unable to compete due to an injury. 2017 was the next encounter, and then 2021. Most famously, they squared off once more in the 2023 Super Bowl—a game that some fans dubbed the Kelce Bowl with fondness.
In a recent New Heights podcast, Jason asked Travis if he liked playing against him. Travis said, "Fun as hell, man."
He added, "I enjoy just being in the NFL with you let alone when we actually get to share the field. It brings all of our family, and all of our friends together to watch one game. Outside of the score at the end, I know that ... I definitely have fun throughout every single game that we've ever played."
