Bruce Willis daughter reveals why her family has been open about actor’s dementia
Tallulah Willis shares her thoughts on preserving her dad Bruce’s personal belongings on 'Drew Barrymore Show'
Bruce Willis daughter Tallulah has recently revealed why she and her family have been open about the actor’s health condition.
Tallulah, who is the daughter of Bruce and Demi Moore, reflected on her coping with her father’s battle with frontotemporal dementia.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Drew Barrymore Show on November 8, Tallulah said, “I think on one hand, it's who we are as a family.”
“But also, it's really important for us to spread awareness about FTD,” stated the 29-year-old.
Tallulah explained, “If we can take something that we're struggling with as a family and individually, to help other people, to turn it around, to make something beautiful about it, that's really special for us.”
When asked how she’s “preserving” Die Hard actor’s personal belongings, she replied, “Part of what's been a really beautiful way for me to heal through this is becoming like an archaeologist to my dad's stuff.”
Sharing update about his cognitive disease, Tallulah disclosed, “He is the same, which I think in this regard I've learned is the best thing you can ask for.”
“I see love when I'm with him, and it's my dad and he loves me, which is really special,” she added.
Earlier in September, Bruce wife Emma Heming Willis shared how tough it is for the family to deal with this disease.
“What I'm learning is that dementia is hard,” remarked the 45-year-old in an interview with Today.
Emma mentioned, “It's hard on the person diagnosed, it's also hard on the family. And that is no different for Bruce, or myself, or our girls.”
“When they say this is a family disease, it really is,” she admitted.
