Pankaj Tripathi expresses disappointment over 'OMG 2' receiving 'Adult only' certificate
Pankaj Tripathi says 'he never expected 'OMG 2' to get an 'A' certificate'
Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 has received an adult only certificate; the actor has expressed his disappointment over the same.
Pankaj added that while making a film, we usually have an idea if the movie will get an "A certificate" or not. He quoted the example of the Gangs of Wasseypur. He said that we knew it would get the 'adults only' certificate. But this was not the case for OMG 2.
"When we got an A certificate, we got surprised. This is because while making a film, we know whether or not a film will get an A certificate, (for example,) Gangs Of Wasseypur. When we were making it, we knew that it will get an Adults Only certificate. However, when we were making OMG 2, we didn't think that it will get such a rating", he said.
The Fukrey actor stated: "For me it was a surprise. I was a bit disappointed, as the target age group of 12-17 years old won't be able to see the film."
The ace actor expressed sadness over the fact that the targeted audience wouldn't be able to see the film.
He said: "I think we should have something between U/A and A category. Just like Censor has brought Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill into the act. Hopefully, they also bring a few changes in Censor certification. It is sad that the very people for whom we made the film, won't be able to watch it."
OMG 2 is a satirical-comedy drama starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. The film focuses on a messenger of Lord Shiva helping his true devotee save the future of his son. The film will hit the theatres on August 11, reports India Today.
