ISLAMABAD: Renowned actress Zeba Bakhtiar Thursday said that at present more than 20 films are under production in the country which is good omen for Pakistani film industry.
She said that there is dire need of more cinema houses which can screened these movies across the country.
She recalled her initial days of her career when there is only Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television in the country for the promotion of art and cultural activities and said that in those days emphasis has been given on the quality instead of quantity.
However, now there are number of private radio and TV channels but level of quality has been suffered due to lack of research work in this field, she added.
Responding to a question, Zeba Bakhtiar said any writer who has ingredients of purity, honesty and reality with good research work can acclaim accolades from cinemagoers.
Zeba Bakhtiar who hails from Balochistan, debuted from the Karachi, television’s play Anarkali in 1980. In it she played the title role of Anarkali.
Zeba Bakhtiar’s debut film Hina was produced by R.K. films in India.
In her movies and television plays Zeba Bakhtiar displayed one of the defining sensibilities of the 1990s and beyond.
