Joan Smalls praises Rihanna ahead of her ramp walk: She is a 'trailblazer'
Joan Smalls lauds Rihanna for her brand's emphasis on diversity
Joan Smalls praised Rihanna for bringing inclusivity to the fashion and beauty industry through her brand.
Ahead of her ramp walk on the fashion show, Joan Smalls spoke to Enews where she praised Rihanna for espousing diversity in the beauty and fashion industry.
Joan complimented Rihanna on her Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4, "It's been a part of my conversation since I started in this industry, where there has always been a lack of diversity," she said.
She continued, "To see it come this far and having her be the trailblazer, especially in this space of intimate-wear, it's kind of revolutionary."
The supermodel noted how the brand includes everyone, "no matter what size, age, shape, skin color," and added, "It was needed and it was about time."
Joan, 34, has been in the modeling industry since the late 2000s and is the first Puerto Rican fashion model who has worked with several brands.
From walking the runways as Victoria's Secret Angel to advertising campaigns for top designers, including Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Versace, Balmain, Givenchy, and Jimmy Choo, the model has always brought her 'A' game.
The Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4 premiered on November 9 on Amazon Prime Video.
