Kevin Costner may soon step into the shoes of former U.S. President Bill Clinton for a new political drama titled United.
According to early details, the project is still in development and is set to be produced in association with the United Nations.
Costner is also expected to executive-produce the series alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, marking a major collaboration behind the scenes.
The series will be directed and written by David Raymond, known for Night Hunter.
United aims to spotlight real stories of humanitarians who have shown courage and persistence while working to make the world better.
Costner’s interest in the role comes at a busy time in his career.
He recently directed, co-wrote, produced and starred in Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1, which premiered at Cannes in 2024 before arriving in theaters.
The second chapter screened at Venice and is now awaiting release plans. The Oscar winner also earned praise for leading the hit series Yellowstone, a role that won him a Golden Globe before he exited the show midway through its fifth season.
He continues to juggle several upcoming projects, including Honeymoon with Harry, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 3, and Headhunters.
Away from work, Costner also reflected on personal changes following his second ex-wife Christine Baumgartner’s recent remarriage.
In a candid conversation with US Weekly, he admitted that the holiday season now feels different.
“I'm a bachelor, so I kind of miss those, like, really cute things to do,” he shared, adding that he tries to recreate meaningful moments for his seven children.
The actor noted that when his kids were younger, traditions came easily, but now he’s “just fighting to get them home from college or fight...You know what I mean? Just getting together!” He said he simply does his best “to make it as warm as I can.”
With a possible presidential portrayal ahead and several major projects in motion, Costner continues to balance a high-profile career with the complexities of family life.
