KARACHI: Pakistan's Academy Selection Committee (PASC) has shortlisted movie Mah-e-Mir for the 2017 Oscar Awards in Best Movie in International Language category.
Mah-e-Mir, featuring Fahad Mustafa and Iman Ali in central roles, is based on the life of famous Urdu poet Mir Taqi Mir. Sanam Saeed, Manzar Abassi and Aly Khan are among the lead characters of the movie.
Anjum Shehzad and Sarmad Sehbai directed the movie, which was released in May this year. Zinda Bhaag (2013), Dukhtar (2014) and Mor (2015) have earlier been selected from Pakistan for this category.
