| Tribesmen vow to protect country’s western borders |

| MIRAMSHAH: Tribesmen of North Waziristan Agency Sunday vowed that three million tribesmen would stand by the armed forces if Indian dared to attack Pakistan’s territory. Talking to local journalists at the press club, the elders assured that the tribesmen were ready to safeguard the western border of the country and urged the government to move the forces to eastern border in order to deter the Indian hegemonic designs. The speakers included Muhammad Afzal, Gul Akbar Khan, Habibullah and Hazratullah urged the government to move the armed forces to its eastern border in the wake of the aggressive Indian intensions. They accused both the Indian media and government of implicating Pakistan in the Mumbai terror incident and pledged to support their government and armed forces in any eventuality. They underlined the need for unity among the people to thwart conspiracies against the country by the Indian government in the prevailing situation. Rocket fired at Mir Ali army camp: A rocket was fired at the security forces camp at Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan Agency on Sunday. However, it caused no loss. Sources said that unidentified miscreants fired a rocket from an undisclosed location and that fell near the security forces’ camp in Mir Ali tehsil. However, it caused no loss of life or property. |
