LAHORE: Pakistani film star Meera has brushed aside reports of a 10-year ban on her entry into the United Kingdom as 'nothing more than mere rumours.'
Talking to Geo News, Meera said the reports of the ban on her entry to the UK carry no substance and that these ‘rumours’ were circulated by her ‘enemies’.
Meera said there are some individuals who are jealous of her fame and these rumour-mongers keep their rumour mills operational all the time.
She said she has not received any such notice in writing from the British government.
UK Home Office reaction
When asked if Meera has been banned for 10 years from entering the UK, a Home Office spokesperson said: “We do not routinely comment on individual cases.”
