It’s time to hold another sit-in at D-Chowk: Asad Umar
ISLAMABAD: A leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Asad Umar, on Monday said that it was time to hold another sit-in at the D-Chowk in protest against the continuous economic deprivation of the people.
The PTI leader, while criticising the government, said that the federal government was annoying the nation by approving just a nominal reduction in petroleum prices. He said a relaxation had been given to the millionaires a week before in the name of tax amnesty while the leaders must be getting appreciations from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in this regard.
Earlier, a spokesman for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Naeem-ul-Haque, termed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s announcement of reducing Rs5 per litre in petroleum prices a joke. He said that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) had recommended slashing the petroleum prices by 21 percent, but officials only reduced Rs5 per litre.
Naeem-ul-Haque alleged that the government had been selling petrol at high rates after buying it cheaply in the international market.
